Danagogo Appeals To Nigerians For Eagles Support

'do not lose hope' Sports Minister Tammy Danagogo urges NigeriansNigerian sports administrators have called for patience and support from Nigerians for the national team
Nigerians have been frantic about the Super Eagles following their result against Iran. The hate and criticism is what the team does not need as the Sports Minister has urged Nigerians to support the team despite the Iran result.

The minister who was in Brazil with the team during the presidential delegation visit of Senate President David Mark, said: “Nigerians have every right to be disappointed because they expected their team to beat Iran. It is expected but I want to appeal that they should not lose hope but continue to pray and support the team. Bosnia are beatable and the Eagles can come back strong.''

The minister assured Nigerians that the national team has learned from its mistakes and will do everything to avoid the disappointment again, he admonished Nigerians to bury the hatchet and give the team another chance.

“I believe in the never-say-die spirit of the Nigerian athlete. The Eagles and the coaches must have studied the tape of the last match and will plot new strategies to win the next game. I therefore, urge Nigerians to continue to wish them well, they don’t have to lose hope.,''  The honourable minister added.

A former chairman of Nigerian Premier League side Kano Pillars, Alhaji Abba Yola has also pleaded with Nigerian fans to exercise patience in the national team. He said: “I understand the feelings of Nigerians. We all wanted Eagles to beat Iran but in football, you cannot win all the times.

“Furthermore, I expect Nigerians to be used to the team. Eagles are slow starters. They most times start slowly but end strongly.''

Alhaji Abba Yola who was a member of the National Sports Commission added:“Personally, I have not given up on the team. I am confident that if given all the necessary support, they can win their remaining matches to progress.''
