Players of the Algerian national team are donating their World Cup bonuses to the less privileged in the
Palestinian community.
According to top striker Islam Slimani, “They need it more than us.”
The
players have resolved to give out all the money they got from their
participation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign to the poor in the
troubled Palestinian city of Gaza.
Slimani and his mates received a heroes’ welcome from the fans in Algiers.
Out
of all the Five African representatives at the World Cup, Algeria
stands out as the best behaved and quiet team with a peaceful campaign
all through their stay at the tournament.
They have taken a different turn from fellow Africans at Brazil who made more noise with bonuses than they did with results.
