The Ills and Thrills Of The 2014 World Cup

The Selecaos as they are fondly called have more than the trophy to win if they can, to justify the 11 Billion Dollars spent by the Government to stage the competition.
The clock ticks in hours and minutes for the procession of the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup which draws the curtain for live super action from the  Amazon country.  Everyone seem to be thrilled in waiting forz the kick of the 20th FIFA World Cup, if not for the field action, the side attractions, scenery, fashion and food of the  Brazillian culture can halt a mobile infantry.

No doubt this is going to be spectacular as we all wait for the evening when the tournament opens up, but there have been talks and rumours of detractions in the World  Cup. One of which are the striking workers and protests that have preluded the preparations of this International tournament.

The FIFA World cup is watched by over a billion people and FIFA's Projection of football being played in other planets would seemingly increase the growing numbers.  The whole World is waiting in calming and pleasant anxiety, but in Brazil, it is a mix of both concordant and discordant feelings.

The Brazil 2014 World Cup is one meshes with protests and possible breakdowns when the World Cup begins.  The Brazillian people are not happy that the Government spent a reportedly 11 Billion dollars on the staging of a World they consider insignificant to the growth of  their economy; reports from the locals say they think it to be an extravagant spending that does not reflect on their standards of living, they'd have rather preferred  that much money was used for Education, Health, and Employment. However, President Rouseff has dispelled this thought, claiming that it is a good investment for  Brazil.

Besides these despair, the LOC has had to battle with striking and protesting workers during the course of renovating or rebuilding structures for the World  Cup. The workers feel over-used whilst been underpaid, making a request 12% wage increase, the LOC and the Government had to battle it out, a struggle which delayed  the progress of works, a situation that almost called for the postponement of the kick-off; a FIFA history that would have been.

Eight Stadia is FIFA's requirement for every host of the World Cup but the Brazillian World Cup provided 12; 4 in excess of requirement, thereby translating into more  expenses. The Brazillian people are not happy about this and the workers are aggrieved.

There has never been a history of the FIFA World Cup halted amidst the course of action but this could very be well be first if what the workers and the community say  is to be taken into consideration. The stadium in Sao Paulo is kilometres away from the local community who make up much of the spectators and the fastest and most reliable way to get to the stadium is  the railway, but the railway workers threatened to disrupt operations if the 12% Wage increase is not attended to.
Rumours, suggestions and predictions overwhelm this particular competition, Whether or not the threats will be carried out, the whole process likens to an  explosive about to go off. June 12, Brazil will explode with the fan fare and euphoria of the World Cup, everyone wants to see the best of football action from the world stars who will be gracing the Amazon.
